With Gratitude (from the Prison)

I stopped by my local Al-Anon information center to pick up prison books today. The woman who works there was glad I did because it cleared up a mystery. She had been receiving anonymous checks from different parts of the country requesting that they be used for copies of "Courage to Change" for the prison program.

When I first checked with her (before I posted about the books), there were four books. Today there were nine.

Those of you who heeded the call, I thank you. Your donations will make a difference in someone's life.

  1. Good timing wasn't it? You are one busy lady and in service daily.

  2. you have such a great heart. I wish I could dontate but I don't even know what the books are.

  3. Great. Glad that your call for help worked.

  4. Don't you love it when stuff like this happens? People that care, that are willing to donate their money to help someone they don't know and will never meet. On behalf of all those in prison who will get a book: THANK YOU (since they may not be able to tell you I'll say if for them). You are a precious woman.

  5. Love your spirit of service --

    Mary LA

  6. Kathy, I was trying to figure out how to contact you, but I can't find any way other than this...

I wanted to let you know I am starting a new Blog Carnival. It seemed like this kind of Ezine would be right up your alley.

In case you haven't been to one before, a Blog Carnival is a compilation of links to posts about a specific topic. I've participated in several blog carnivals and enjoyed reading others. It's a great way to find new blogs about a subject one is interested in and to get your own posts read by more people.

So, I was looking through the Blog Carnival list, this morning, for one related to the twelve steps. Of the hundreds of Blog Carnivals listed, I didn't find one related to twelve step recovery!

So, I decided to create one.

I set up a separate blog to be the home for this new Blog Carnival, which I am calling, Stepper's Wisdom.

I would love to have you submit some posts from your blog for the first edition, which will come out August 15th. You can find a link at my blog.

I'm planning to have new editions every few months.

Hope you have a great, long weekend!

  7. Hi Linda, so good to hear from you. I have been away for a while. AS of late I am wanting to become more disciplined with writing on my blog. Thank you for stopping by. My blog is being a bit goofy. I accepted your comment and then it disappeared. Then All of my comments disappeared. Then they came back but yours is not there. I got it in my email and was so blessed by your your gracious words. Thank you and keep on your beautiful healing journey. I will stop by more often to receive from you as well. Peace, Jeanne

  8. Kathy, thank you for sharing. Blessings.
