Time and Change

I realized that I promised to post in mid-September and here it is, nearly October. Time gets away.

I completed my three-day backpacking trip of the Grand Canyon. I'm glad to say I felt adequately prepared and enjoyed it very much. Here are a few pics.

Meanwhile, assignments have been raining down on me like manna from heaven.

God's been working in my life in other ways, too. Out of the blue, He delivered us a couple who want to lease our home starting Dec. 1.

Of course, that means we have to somehow get our final inspection up at the land and move all of our stuff by then. But that's okay!!

It wasn't in our time, but then it usually isn't. I've learned to accept God's gifts with gratitude and Thanksgiving. Too many things had to fall into place for this to happen for me to believe this is coincidence. One thing after another fell into place, just like Dominos.

So now, my husband and I are trying to sort through years of accumulation in a too-big house. What goes into the garage sale. What goes on Craig's List. What goes into a box.

And, of course, the deadlines.

I will need you all more than ever in just a couple short months. But for now, I need to focus on the priorities God has set before me.

Thanks to all of you who have stopped by to let me know you're still thinking of me. I hope to visit soon. Meanwhile, be well and take care.

  1. Isn't it amazing our time table is not God's time table. He has so much that He wants to bless us with if we are obedient and open to His will!

So glad that you checked-in. Missed not hearing from you! Thank you for sharing such breathtaking sites as well! WOW!

  2. Hey Kathy,
So good to hear from you. Wow! Amazing pictures!
Really miss you, but I know you are being led away for now. I pray God blesses you and strengthens you for your big move. :)

  3. How perfect wonderful. These pictures look like you had a beautiful backpacking trip. Good luck to you in the packing and sorting. One good thing about moving like this is you get to go through things and simplify if you want and get rid of things you no longer need.

You are so right it isn't in our timing...we only have a very small veiw of the bigger picture. Blessings to you and yours as you make these changes. XX

  4. Beautiful place. It sounds as if you have a great adventure ahead within the next couple of months. Enjoy that. Keep in touch when you can.

  5. You did the backpacking and are going to get ready to move to the new place. So cool. Glad you are doing well. I look forward to hearing more soon.

  6. Although that timing may not feel like it's the right time for us, it is the right time to work properly with the bigger picture or plan God has for us:) It's like when we apply for a job and you're upset when you don't get it, but a better one comes along shortly after. Everything works out for the best in the end.

Good luck with all the packing!

  7. Thanks for the update. I was thinking about you the other day, wondering how you were doing.

    Good luck with your project!

  8. hi kathy~ it's good to hear how you're doing. i'm so glad things are continuing to go well for you. that you have so many writing assignments, that the trip into the canyon went well (what beautiful photos!), and that the move out of your house is upon you.

your life sounds full and good~

i'm happy for you and wishing you well as always! :)

  9. Wow you are back and me too after my second intervall at trauma therapy. I am so glad to hear you are doing good and moving. De-cluttering means letting go too...
I can imagine that this backpacking trip has enhanced your spirituality and connectness to nature.
Amazing place to be and feel!

  10. returned to ensure you are still there ;-))) Hugs

  11. Gorgeous pictures! I'm glad it went well :) I guess this is where you focus on the positive of the house getting renting and do your best with the sorting it out, huh? :) It's all good it sounds.
God does take care of us, though not always the way we expect!
Until you return to your blog - God bless.

  12. Great photos.Thank you for taking us along with you on your journey(even if it was by photos)
